Dr. Diana Margarita López Canto
Dr. Diana López, was born in Mérida, Yucatán where she attended Dental School at the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatán (Autonomous University of Yucatan) and then she moved to Mexico City where she remained for 2 years studying the specialty in Endodontics. While she was in Dental School she worked with an instructor who was a specialist in Endodontics where she acquired her love and inclination to continue studying.
She arrives to Cancun in 1989 and since then her clinical practice has been limited to Endodontics.
Convinced of the need of continuing education and constant feedback, she asists every year to the Mexican Association of Endodontics meetings and the courses in Endodontic Microscopy and Microsurgery, in 2008, she started to get involved in this subject attending the course given by Dr. Armando Hernandez called Surgical and Non-surgical Micro-Endodontic Techniques, in Los Algodones, Baja California.
Dr. López is a member of the Mexican Association of Endodontics College of Specialists in Endodontics and is certified by the Mexican Board oF Endodontics.
Dr. López is passionate about Endodontics and since 2015 her clinical practice is being supported by the microscope, she is convinved that it is a necessary and indispensable tool to achieve good root canal treatments.
She also believes in the need of teamwork (Interdisciplinary Dentistry) to offer patients adequate care and the best results.
Since 2001 she works with Dr. Carlos Zapata in patient care.
Dr. López is past-president of the Dental Surgeon College of Quintana Roo, she was part of the Board of Directors of the Southeast College of Endodontists and also of the Mexican Association of Endodontics where she collaborated in the organization of the national meetings in Cancun in 1993, 2004 and 2010, and the one in Puerto Vallarta in 2016.
Dr. López has 2 sons, who are her motivation, the oldest is an Industrial Engineer and lives in Mexico City, the youngest will soon graduate from School of Business Administration.
Dr. López enjoys music, gardening and outdoor activities, she believes in the need to relieve work related stress by kayaking, hiking and sailing when time allows, spending time in the garden is gratifying to her.
Dr. López is happy with what she has been doing until today, and believes in the need of socializing and getting feedback in current issues.
